Before the advent of BBC’s popular television programme, the ‘well-to-do’ escaped the squalor and disease of London to move into the countryside. The urban sprawl of London has now overtaken the majestic former country residences. We visit Kenwood House one of London’s hidden gems with breath-taking interiors and a stunning world-class art collection.  Free time in London’s West End for the activity of your choice or you may wish to visit the Royal Academy or the National Gallery.
On Sunday we visit Syon House, the spectacular home built in the 16th Century by the Duke of Northumberland, Osterley House and Park, one of the finest and most complete houses by Robert Adam.

Liverpool – A Magical Mystery Tour
The City offers the opportunity to be transported back to the Swinging Sixties with its vibrant music scene. On Monday take a Beatles tour with a Blue Badge guide, a Ferry across the Mersey and a visit to Crosby Beach to see the spectacular sculptures by Antony Gormley. His work ‘Another Place’ consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea.
Visitors will be spoilt for choice with its exceptional museums, art galleries, shopping and dining experiences.

The tour is based at the superb The Liner Hotel (3* B/B) in the heart of the city.

Our tour features visits to Buckfast Abbey & Gardens, Devon’s hidden gem a monastic community set in tranquil gardens, Topsham with its quaint streets and historic charm and a River Cruise along the Jurassic coast. On Sunday we visit Devon’s floral resort Sidmouth which resounds folk music and dancing along the promenade.

There’s so much to see and do at Kew Gardens. Summer is a special time, every corner is alive with colour. Stop at the Rose Garden to admire the colours and scents and be dazzled by the Great Broad Walk Borders. Explore the Palm House with its indoor rainforest, the Princess of Wales Conservatory and take a tree-top walk. Step back in time and visit Kew Palace – home of George III.

Brugge & Lille

Our tour to Flanders features two exceptional Cities
– Brugge, known as the Venice of the North with its web of canals, historic buildings, museums, galleries and chocolate shops is a unique destination. We feature a walking tour of the City visiting key locations and wonderful photo opportunities of the swans that swim serenely on the Lake of Love and the horse drawn carriages that wind their way from the Market Square and Belfry through the cobbled streets of the City.
- Lille, despite the ravages of both world wars the City has a host of attractive 17th Century buildings in the Old Town Quarter and around the Place Charles de Gaulle. Popular activities include a visit to Wazemmes Market which is one of the largest in France and here you can pick up bargains from the many stalls and sample and purchase some of the local specialities. The Palais des Beaux-Arts is second only to the Louvre Museum in France and has a superb art collection which is sure to captivate.
Whilst in Flanders we will also visit Arras with its arcaded squares and Ypres for the Ceremony of The Last Post at The Menin Gate.
